Giants Home Opener, Running Low on Pitchers

On April 10, 2010 was The San Francisco Giants home opener against The Atlanta Braves. Jonathan Sanchez take the mound for the giants. He lasted 4 1/3 innings, he strikeout six hitters, including four in two innings. The Braves scored in the top of the 3rd, and in the top of the 5th. But the Giants come back in the bottom of the 8th when Edgar Renteria hit a two run home run tieing up the game. The game ended in the bottom of the 13th inning when Aaron Rowand hit a game winning hit to bring in Juan Uribe. The final score was 5-4. But the good news was that the game ended in the bottom of the 13th because the giants were running low on pitching. Bruce Bochy had used all seven bullpen pitchers, so his next pitcher was going to be Barry Zito who was scheduled to pitch on Monday.
